May was a busy time harvesting with perfect picking weather. A big thanks to friends and family whose help meant we were able to pick and press the crop over a three week period. The electric rakes are a great time-saver and very quickly the empty nets contained a river of olives ready to be crated up and transported to the press. With the sound of the rakes, the chat of the pickers, miniature horses looking on with interest from the next paddock, dogs digging rabbit holes or lying under the trees in the shade it was a hive of activity.
